Celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday by tidying our towns and villages!

Clean for the Queen

Test Valley Borough Council is supporting a national campaign, Clean for the Queen, to tidy our towns and villages and celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday this year.

Clean for the Queen encourages communities across the country to take to the streets and clear litter from their local areas during the weekend of 4 to 6 March. The weekend of tidying will take place prior to the Queen’s official birthday celebrations in June.

Andover Town Centre Manager, Chris Gregory, has organised a community litter pick to take place in Andover on Friday, 4 March. Throughout the day, individuals, councillors and volunteers from local organisations will clear litter in various locations across the town. Manuela Wahon, a community campaigner, will be offering her support throughout the weekend and has already generated a wider awareness of the campaign by seeking to fill 90 bags of litter before the official events begin. The Council is providing litter picking equipment and will also collect and dispose of the waste.
