Ten Years of Healthy Walking

Romsey Health Walk

Test Valley Borough Council is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the launch of its popular Romsey Health Walk scheme. And it is inviting the local community to take part in a special walk to mark the event

On Monday 2 September at 11am, residents who have been involved in the initiative over the past 10 years are invited to meet at Romsey Sports Centre for a gentle walk followed by tea and cake.

The initiative was the first of many successful walking groups to be launched in Test Valley. The health walks are run predominantly by volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure local residents can keep fit in a safe, secure and social environment. They offer residents the chance to get out and about and explore the local area while enjoying the fantastic scenery and fresh air.

For more information, or to share your experience of health walks, please contact Laura Blake, Sports Development and Physical Activity Coordinator at Test Valley Borough Council on 01264 368000 or email lblake@testvalley.gov.uk.
