Consultation with parishes on public open space projects

Parish councils will soon receive the latest statements on contributions collected through Section 106 agreements. In conjunction with this, letters are being sent out asking parishes to help update the Council’s records on local projects for public open space (as defined in the Borough Local Plan 2006).

To qualify for financial contributions towards public open space from new housing proposals, Test Valley Borough Council needs to demonstrate that an appropriate scheme is planned within the locality. Without specific and relevant projects, contributions for public open space cannot be sought. The letters will be sent electronically and the parish councils have been asked to respond by February. Responses received after this will still be taken into account where possible.
